I am not much of a TV watcher. At least not episodic shows (I do watch a lot of sports and movies). While reading an article about a week before the premiere of Low Winter Sun, the author made it seem like a film noir. Now, I happen to be a big fan of that genre, so I recorded the pilot, despite the mixed reviews I had seen on metacritic and elsewhere. I got around to watching it a day or two after last Sunday night (I had to get up for work early!) and was very impressed. For the first time in a while couldn’t wait to see where the second part of a television series was going.
I was sorry to see the ratings fell by nearly half from week one to two. However, my own fascination with the series has grown. So yeah, despite the fact that people may be jumping to other pursuits, I am “all in” for the full ten episodes. Basically, I decided to share my thoughts with the world (who knows if I’ll get a following…going off of the ratings, probably not!) in case the entire run is this season.
I know we’re in a Golden Age of television now, as it’s been written about incessantly by the media (not to mention a frequent topic of conversation at the old water cooler). Some of those people have dumped on LWS and have taken a bit of glee in the fall in ratings of The Goat Rodeo. Doesn’t dampen my enthusiasm though!
I will delve into the opening two episodes in later installments, but this has turned into more of my “mission statement” I guess.
Until next time!
